Maria Jones grew up on Michigan lakes, and she and her sister, Lindsey, were introduced to boating at a very early age, frequently having an opportunity to listen to their father, Craig, discuss his passion for boats and the boating lifestyle. For many people buying a boat is one of the most important lifestyle choices they make. She has made it her mission to help each CCYS client realize their boating dreams, whether by asking enough questions to ensure the right boat purchase, or just as important, providing any assistance she can as they navigate towards their boat life dreams. As CCYS’s second employee Maria has learned all the facets of its operations from the water up, so to speak. As CCYS’s Chief Operating Officer she manages each day to ensure all staff keep this same, clear client-oriented focus. Maria graduated from UNC-Wilmington where she majored in hospitality management. Her next seven years saw her assume increasing larger front office responsibilities with Hyatt Corporation, first in Beaver Creek, CO, then Hilton Head Island, SC, and finally in Atlanta, GA. She moved to Charleston in 2005, married her husband, Mal, several years thereafter, and sold Volvos for a year before Craig asked her to join CCYS. She enjoys spending time with her two daughters and her husband exploring the Charleston area and boating up and down the intercoastal waterway. Maria has been boating since she was seven on the Great Lakes and now in North and South Carolina. She enjoys the many friendships she has made with clients as they launch another chapter in their lives.
